The Skincare Farmers

From a humble farm in Herefordshire, I’ve always been passionate about a holistic approach to skincare through a healthier and hydrated lifestyle. Inspired by my family's journey of turning homegrown crops into original brands, whilst learning about some of the detrimental effects commercial farms have on the land, I’m  setting out to restart the male skincare market through the powers of innovation. 

That’s why this project is an exciting new journey into vertical farming - a process that uses on average, 85% less water than traditional agriculture.

Basil is our hero ingredient, and rightly so, it’s the ancient GREEK basileus, meaning “King". It's hydrating, with lots of minerals, antioxidants and amino acids. Also, antibacterial, rich with valuable vitamins, skin rebuilding and anti-inflammatory properties. Importantly, it's a crop that grows particularly well in a vertical farm. Like juniper is to gin; Basil is the hero botanical in all our formulas.

The process, combining a farming pedigree and the art of copper pot distillation results in recipes, devoid of nasties. 

It's our quest to champion products that are every bit as effective as chemically derived alternatives.

Basil is the hero-of-all-herbs. That’s why it’s in all of our products. It has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, which keeps skin clean and calm.

We chose the rest of our ingredients based on their natural properties, too. Grapefruit reduces oily skin. Spearmint can even speed up the skin’s natural healing process. The list goes on. 

So whatever product you use, you know you’re getting the most out of every natural ingredient, and that most of them are grown in the UK (even our frankincense is mixed in the UK).

Our basil (and other ingredients) are grown on vertical farms, where shelves of growing ingredients stand on top of one another. 

They use 95% less land than traditional farms, which means you can grow food where space is tight. And because they’re indoor farms, everything can be grown year round. 

This is how we grow our basil: vertically, without chemicals, without pesticides, using 95% less water and with renewable energy. Basil is magic. Vertical farms are magic-er. 

We extract essential oils through a copper pot distillation

This is a traditional technique that dates centuries. We use these concentrated oils for their anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral properties.

Then we blend them here, in the UK, and post them directly to your door.
